  I like to shop at Rod & Jo's No Frills food store because the store is very professionally run. The food prices are low. The quality of the food is excellent and the personal is efficient and friendly.

  They have a very friendly and active team.also it's a pleasure to see all the young people they're hiring to keep them busy and out of trouble. On the weekend I have seen lots of students and that's very good for our neighborhood.

  I have mixed experiences at this No Frills. The prices are the same as any other No Frills, the store is generally clean, and the staff have always been friendly and accommodating.
  
  However, I purchased some coconut milk along with my groceries and went home to make a coconut curry soup. The last step in the recipe was to add the coconut milk to the veggies and upon emptying the first can into the soup, a horrendous smell hit my nose. The coconut milk was rancid.
  
  I went back to the store with the second can and opened it in front of the cashier to show her it was indeed rancid. She called her manager and they refunded me for ONLY the one $2 can of coconut milk. I ruined a whole pot full of veggies that I had just purchased along with a second can of Coconut milk. There was no apology from the manager and he refused to refund anything else. The cashier did apologize and said that the specific manager that day always acted like that. I now try to avoid the store if I can.

  I don't like places that (like the whole No Frills chain of stores) threaten potentially vulnerable people with slogans like "won't be beat", especially when the guy who runs it's named is "Rod". The attached photo shows that the price of two comparable items. Apparently, people who buy the more expensive one "won't be beat"?
